Maximum Care & Co. is looking for a passionate and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing multidisciplinary team. You will work collaboratively with participants, families, support teams and allied health professionals to develop practical, evidence-informed behaviour support strategies that promote quality of life, independence, choice and safety.
Key responsibilities
Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments and comprehensive behavioural assessments.
Develop Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans in accordance with NDIS requirements.
Identify the function and contributing factors of behaviours of concern using evidence-based assessment approaches.
Develop proactive, preventative and person-centred behaviour support strategies.
Develop strategies focused on skill building, functional communication, emotional regulation, coping and increased independence.
Conduct participant observations across home, school, community, SIL and other relevant environments.
Provide behaviour support sessions directly to participants where appropriate.
Provide coaching, education and training to families, support workers and other members of the participant's care team.
Collaborate with Support Coordinators, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, schools, SIL providers and other stakeholders.
Monitor participant progress, analyse behavioural data and review strategies based on outcomes.
About you
Registered as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, or eligible to work toward suitability.
Experienced in Positive Behaviour Support and working with people with disability.
Confident completing behavioural assessments and developing high-quality Behaviour Support Plans.
Knowledgeable about behaviours of concern, functional assessment and positive behaviour support.
Familiar with restrictive practices and the NDIS behaviour support framework.
A strong written and verbal communicator.
Comfortable working independently while also collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
Organised and capable of managing a wide-ranging caseload.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
Current driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
Ongoing clinical supervision and professional development.
Multidisciplinary collaboration.
A supportive and approachable leadership team.

Flexibility in organising participant appointments and workload.
