Our client is a well-established accounting and business advisory firm based in East Melbourne, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality service and building long-term client relationships.
Following continued growth, the firm is looking for a
Practice Manager
to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the practice and support the team as the business continues to evolve.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting practice skilled to make the role their own.
About the Role
Reporting to the Partners, you will play a key role in supporting the firm's people, processes and operations. You will work closely with the accounting and administration teams to ensure the practice runs efficiently and continues to provide an excellent experience for both clients and staff.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the day-to-day operations of the practice and supporting a team of approximately 17 staff
Taking ownership of HR coordination, employee support and engagement
Supporting and developing the administration team, including three administration/reception staff
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and efficiencies across the business
Supporting month-end processing and coordinating team targets and goals
Overseeing client onboarding and offboarding processes and continuing to improve these workflows
Assisting with recruitment, onboarding and integration of new team members
Supporting the implementation and adoption of new systems and technology
Coordinating internal projects across areas such as systems, marketing and process improvement
Working with the Partners to identify future operational priorities and opportunities for improvement




Supporting the integration of new teams as the business continues to grow and acquire other practices
Exploring opportunities to leverage AI and technology to improve the firm's processes and efficiency
About You
We are looking for someone with a
public practice accounting background
who understands the pace, priorities and operational requirements of a professional accounting firm.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in a Practice Manager, Practice Coordinator, Office Manager or similar operational role within public practice accounting
Strong understanding of accounting practice operations and administration
Experience supporting HR, people management and team engagement
Strong process improvement and organisational skills
Confidence working with systems and implementing new processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, hands‐on approach and the ability to work autonomously
A genuine interest in improving the way a business operates
The personality and confidence to build strong relationships across the entire team
The firm is looking for someone with approximately
3–5 years' relevant experience
who is ready to take ownership of a Practice Manager position and grow with the business.

The position offers:
$120,000 – $140,000 (package)
Full-time permanent position
Monday to Friday, approximately 8:30am – 5:00pm
37.5-hour working week
Fully onsite in East Melbourne
