We are working with a well-established national property services business that provides maintenance solutions to commercial and government clients across Australia. With a diverse portfolio spanning corporate offices, education, airports, government and other specialised environments, they are looking for a Safety Advisor to take ownership of their WHS function across the business. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Safety Advisor looking to take the next step, or a senior safety professional who wants the autonomy and influence that comes with being the key safety specialist within an organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of People & Safety, you will take accountability for health and safety across the business, working closely with Operations, HR & People, Finance and Business Development. You will play a key role in driving a proactive safety culture, improving systems and processes, and ensuring employees and contractors are supported to work safely.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and continuously improving the WHS Management System in line with ISO ***** standards
Providing practical WHS advice and guidance to managers, employees and contractors
Conducting regular site inspections, risk assessments and safety reviews across Melbourne
Reviewing and maintaining SWMS, SOPs, chemical registers and site safety documentation
Supporting injury management and return-to-work processes
Developing and delivering toolbox talks, training and safety initiatives
Monitoring safety performance, reporting on trends and identifying opportunities for improvement
Supporting audits, compliance activities and competency assurance
Developing safety campaigns and initiatives that positively influence safety culture
You can expect to spend around 1-2 days per week visiting sites across Melbourne, with the majority of sites located within approximately 20 minutes of the Camberwell office.



There are also approximately 3-4 interstate trips per year to support national sites.
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident operating autonomously and can build strong relationships across all levels of a business. You will ideally have:
A tertiary qualification in WHS, with Certificate IV in WHS as a minimum
Strong experience in a comparable Safety Advisor role
Experience within property services, facilities, cleaning, construction or another field-based environment will be highly regarded
Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, systems and processes
Experience with incident investigations, risk assessments and safety inspections
Strong reporting, KPI monitoring and continuous improvement capability
ICAM or similar investigation training is highly desirable
Return to Work Coordinator training is highly desirable
A current driver's licence
Most importantly, you will be someone who is proactive, practical and comfortable taking initiative. This is a role where your opinions and expertise will genuinely be valued.
