This role is essential in ensuring the ongoing performance, reliability, and safety of machinery and equipment. As a Fitter & Turner, you will inspect and maintain mechanical systems and components of production and agricultural machinery, diagnose mechanical faults, and perform repairs on a range of equipment.
Key responsibilities
Inspect and maintain mechanical systems and components of production and agricultural machinery.
Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs on moving parts, gearboxes, pumps, drive systems, and hydraulic equipment.
Dismantle and reassemble machinery and mechanical components using appropriate tools and techniques.
Conduct routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and mechanical safety checks on fixed and mobile equipment.
Clean, adjust, and lubricate parts to ensure proper functioning and longevity of machinery.
Assist with or perform repairs on diesel-powered systems and components as required.
Source and replace worn or damaged mechanical parts, ensuring compatibility and adherence to specifications.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of mechanical inspections and repairs.
Collaborate with Diesel Mechanics and technical staff on the diagnosis and resolution of engine related faults.
Supervise and provide technical guidance to apprentices or assistants engaged in mechanical fitting and machinery maintenance.
About you
At least 3 years experience in a similar role
Strong fault-finding and diagnosis skills
Solid commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
