Love selling travel, but not the endless admin that comes with it?
Here's a role where you can get back to doing what good travel consultants do best - talking to clients, creating great holidays and selling travel.
We're looking for an experienced Leisure Travel Consultant to join our client's established retail team in Balwyn. And this isn't your typical retail travel role.
You'll be working with a loyal, well-travelled and predominantly affluent client base, booking everything from complex European itineraries and premium airfares through to luxury cruising and escorted touring.
Best of all, you'll have an experienced administration team behind you to take care of a good chunk of the paperwork.
So, what's the role?
You'll be looking after clients from enquiry through to booking, using your travel knowledge and sales skills to create holidays that are genuinely right for them.
Think:
International FIT travel and complex itineraries
European holidays, escorted touring, river and ocean cruising
Premium and business‐class airfares
Building long‐term relationships with a loyal client base
Converting enquiries into sales and repeat business
Here's the good bit...
Our client has a strong administration and support structure around its consultants. Depending on your experience and workload, the admin team can assist with things like quotations, invoices, client documentation, payments, booking administration and itinerary information.
Which means you can spend more of your day doing the fun stuff - talking travel, advising clients,
building relationships and making sales.
Who are we looking for?
We're not overly hung up on exactly how many years you've been in travel.
You might be an established leisure consultant with a robust sales track record. Or perhaps you've got several years of retail travel experience and are ready to take the next step.
If you're positive at building relationships, handling enquiries and converting clients, we are interested in talking to you.
You'll ideally have:
Leisure travel experience and international product knowledge
Experience putting together itineraries
A genuine love of selling and talking to clients about travel
The confidence to deal with experienced, high‐value travellers
A relationship‐focused rather than transactional approach
The ability to work autonomously while being part of an experienced team
Amadeus and TraveLog experience would be a bonus, but isn't essential. Broader travel systems experience and the ability to pick things up quickly will be valued.
What's in it for you?
Apart from getting to talk about holidays all day...
Monday to Friday - no weekend work
9.00am–5.00pm, with some flexibility around start/finish times
Interesting, higher‐value international travel
An established and loyal customer base
Excellent administration and quoting support
A mature, experienced and stable team
A well‐established Melbourne travel business with specialist teams across retail, cruise, groups and product
Annual sales incentives and famils
