Supportive, skilled workshop team!
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team at Henderson.
This role is ideally suited to someone with CNC lathe experience; however, applicants with strong CNC machining experience across milling, boring, or other CNC machine types are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Set and operate CNC lathes, horizontal/vertical borers and milling machines.
Select suitable tooling, inserts, feeds and speeds for each machining application.
Machine components to drawing specifications, samples and required tolerances.
Work with a range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel and exotic steels.
Inspect completed work using appropriate measuring and inspection equipment.
Maintain calibration and condition of measuring equipment.
Monitor machine performance, setup times and production efficiency.
Complete job sheets, compliance documentation and timesheets accurately.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and safe working practices.
Work independently while collaborating with the Programmer, Workshop Manager and wider team.
Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, tooling and productivity.
About you:
Previous CNC machining experience is essential.
CNC lathe setup and machining experience is highly desirable, but not essential for the right CNC candidate.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
Knowledge of tooling selection, inserts, feeds and speeds.
Confident using precision measuring equipment, including micrometres.
Solid focus on quality, productivity and continuous improvement.
Able to manage workload effectively and work well as part of a team.
Committed to safe work practices, environmental compliance and professional conduct.
