Experienced Disability Support Workers | Complex & High-Needs Support
Our participants have diverse and complex support needs. Depending on the individual, your role may include supporting participants with complex physical, intellectual or psychosocial disabilities, providing high-intensity personal care and daily living assistance, and supporting participants who may experience behaviours of concern or emotional dysregulation. You will follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans, health plans and established routines, implementing proactive and trauma-informed support strategies. Your responsibilities will include medication assistance and accurate documentation, supporting appointments, community access and meaningful activities, assisting with meal preparation, household tasks and maintaining a safe workplace, recognising and responding appropriately to changes in a participant's presentation, completing clear, accurate and timely shift notes and incident reports, and working collaboratively with families, support coordinators, clinicians and the wider support team.
Key responsibilities
Support participants with complex physical, intellectual or psychosocial disabilities
Provide high-intensity personal care and daily living assistance
Support participants who may experience behaviours of concern or emotional dysregulation
Follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans, health plans and established routines
Implement proactive and trauma-informed support strategies
Assist with medication and accurate documentation
Support appointments, community access and meaningful activities
Assist with meal preparation, household tasks and maintaining a safe environment
Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a participant's presentation
Complete clear, accurate and timely shift notes and incident reports
About you




Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex or high needs
Remain calm, responsive and emotionally regulated during challenging situations
Understand that behaviour is a form of communication
Can follow detailed care plans, risk assessments and support strategies consistently
Use initiative while remaining within the participant's established plans and professional boundaries
Communicate clearly and respectfully with participants, families and colleagues
Reliable, punctual and committed to providing continuity of care
Comfortable working independently and as part of a broader team
Accept feedback professionally and willing to learn
Understand the importance of accurate documentation, confidentiality and accountability
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), where required
Current First Aid and CPR certificates
NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
Reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle
Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated complex-care experience
Availability to work a combination of mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepover shifts
