Central Adelaide Local Health Network Statewide Clinical Support Services – SA Pathology Total Indicative Remuneration Salary MD2 $378,427 to $490,911 p.a (pro rata)+ Salary Sacrifice Benefits Women's and Children's Hospital, North Adelaide **** Part Time, Temporary Role until August **** (with the possibility of extension) About the role Contribute as a consultant member in an Anatomical Pathology team providing high quality, effective and efficient advisory and diagnostic services with focus on perinatal, paediatric and obstetric/non-complex gynaecological pathology including surgical specimens, autopsy and some cytology.
Paediatric specimens include solid organ tumour and non-tumour cases in addition to liver biopsies and renal biopsies.
The Department coordinates the State Perinatal Autopsy Service which performs approximately 200 perinatal post mortem examinations per year.
Contribute and participate in related multidisciplinary meetings and teaching/training activities, quality assurance and continuing education.
The appointment will be at 0.7 FTE until August ****, with the possibility of extension of 0.5 FTE until 30 June ****.
Educational/Vocational Qualifications: Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
Appropriate Specialist qualifications for a Consultant, registerable as a Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
About You You are a highly skilled and team-oriented medical specialist who brings expert anatomical pathology knowledge and a commitment to delivering accurate, high quality diagnostic services.
• Specialist registration with AHPRA and MBBS or equivalent • Expertise in paediatric and obstetric surgical pathology, perinatal autopsy pathology and cytology • Communicate confidently across multidisciplinary teams • Deliver accurate reports within clinical timeframes About us Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is a unique public healthcare organisation that serves health consumers and provides specialist clinical services to the health system in South Australia.
