About the Position: The Retail Manager (General) plays a key role in overseeing the day-to-day running of the shop, ensuring smooth operations, high standards of customer service and effective team coordination so that North Carlton Quality Meats continues to deliver quality products and a positive experience for both walk-in and wholesale clients.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily retail operations including opening and closing procedures, sales floor presentation and service standards.
Lead, roster and support shop staff to maintain efficient workflow and consistent customer service.
Manage inventory levels,



stock rotation, ordering and supplier coordination to minimise waste and ensure product availability.
Handle customer enquiries, resolve issues and promote product knowledge to support sales.
Monitor sales performance, implement basic merchandising and contribute to achieving revenue targets.
Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and hygiene standards.
Assist with cash handling, end-of-day reconciliation and basic reporting.
Support wholesale and special-order processes as required.
Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Diploma of Leadership and Management (or equivalent).
Minimum 1 year relevant experience.
Solid customer service, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a small team.
Sound organisational, problem-solving and time-management abilities.
Knowledge of retail operations, inventory control and food safety practices.
Ability to work flexibly within retail trading hours and maintain high standards of presentation and professionalism.
