Currently, there is a full-time vacancy for an Automotive Technician with god skills and experience to join their friendly team.
Position Purpose The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining Toyota vehicles to the highest standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
The role requires strict adherence to Toyota repair procedures, Toyota Factory Labour (TFL) standards, Toyota Production System (TPS) principles, dealership policies, and manufacturer warranty requirements.
The technician contributes directly to workshop productivity, profitability, customer retention, and dealership reputation through accurate diagnosis, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vehicle Inspection and Diagnosis – • Perform comprehensive inspections on customer vehicles using Toyota-approved diagnostic procedures and equipment.
• Confirm reported faults through road testing.
• Follow Toyota repair procedures, documented repair sequences, and workshop checklists to maintain consistent work quality, while efficiently ordering required parts, minimising unnecessary inventory, and coordinating repairs with parts availability.
2. Mechanical Repairs – • Carry out repairs according to Toyota repair manuals and workshop procedures • Use Toyota GTS+ and other approved diagnostic equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hybrid, transmission, driveline, steering, suspension, brake, HVAC and electronic faults.
Identify root causes rather than replacing unnecessary components.
• Do engine repairs and overhauls, and transmission servicing and replacement.
• Perform Differential, suspension, steering, brake, cooling system, fuel system, and electrical repairs and servicing.
• Perform hybrid vehicle servicing, battery testing and replacement, air conditioning, exhaust, driveline, clutch, wheel bearing, timing belt and timing chain repairs, wheel alignment preparation, safety recall and warranty repairs, and genuine accessory installations.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance and servicing activities,
including engine oil and filter changes, transmission, battery testing, brake fluid, coolant and differential servicing, spark plug, air and cabin filter replacement, tyre rotations, vehicle health checks, multi-point inspections, lubrication of components, service reset procedures, and hybrid system inspections.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workshop environment in accordance with 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain), while identifying and minimising operational inefficiencies, including delays, unnecessary movement, rework, excess inventory, over-processing, transportation waste, and defects.
• Perform final quality inspections, torque fasteners to manufacturer specifications, and conduct road tests where required to verify repair quality and vehicle performance.
3. Preventative Maintenance – • Perform scheduled maintenance in accordance with Toyota service schedules.
4. Toyota Production System (TPS) Application – • Apply Toyota Production System principles throughout workshop operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying efficiency opportunities, recommending process improvements, participating in Kaizen activities, reducing waste, and maintaining an organised and productive workplace.
5. Quality Assurance – • Ensure every repair meets Toyota quality standards.
6. Warranty Compliance- • Deliver first-time quality repairs, minimise vehicle downtime, provide accurate technical information, support Service Advisors, explain technical findings when required, and maintain professional conduct while respecting customer vehicles.
• Follow Toyota warranty repair procedures, complete accurate warranty documentation, retain replaced parts where required, and maintain audit compliance to ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards and minimise warranty claim rejections.
7. Customer Service – • Speak to service advisors where necessary to clarify customer concerns.
• Verify that customer concerns are resolved, accurately complete repair documentation, confirm warning lights are cleared, check fluid levels, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and protect customer property throughout the repair process.

Safety Responsibilities – • Ensure efficient workshop operations through minimising vehicle waiting times and adhering to safe lifting, hoist operation, PPE, hazard reporting, chemical handling, electrical, hybrid high-voltage, fire safety, environmental compliance, and waste disposal procedures.
• Complete and record vehicle health checks, road test reports, recall completions, and safety inspection reports to ensure compliance with Toyota standards and regulatory requirements.
9. Documentation – • Record complete diagnostic findings on repair orders.
• Recommend additional repairs based on safety, reliability and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including repair orders, diagnostic findings, labour recording, warranty documentation, and parts usage records.
Qualifications: Essential • Trade qualification as an Automotive Technician.
• Current driver's licence.
• Ability to use manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of modern automotive systems.
Preferred • Toyota certification.
• Hybrid certification.
• Air conditioning licence.
• Brake and steering inspection accreditation (where applicable).
• Electrical diagnostics experience.
