An Australian-owned business established in ****, our client is a leading provider of innovative warehousing and inventory management solutions.
With expertise in the latest technology and software methodologies, our client now seeks a talented and suitably experienced Software Engineer to join their busy team.
Responsibilities of our Software Engineer will include: ·Deliver high-quality interface analysis, design and coding, ensuring code is structured, consistent and functional and delivered within agreed performance and architecture constraints.
·Participate in full lifecycle application development — researching, analysing, designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining software.
·Design, code and debug applications across a range of software languages, performing both front-end and back-end development including user interface design and core functionality.
·Design and develop internal APIs to support software management and integrate new software seamlessly with existing infrastructure and systems.
·Conduct software analysis and code reviews to identify limitations and ensure code quality.
·Undertake performance tuning and improvement by analysing metrics and developing continuous improvement strategies.
·Manage defects and enhancements through Disttech's defect management process and integrate new technologies to ensure software scalability and interoperability.
·Use version control systems to manage code changes, collaborate with other developers and maintain a clear history of the codebase.
·Provide technical expertise during consulting and proposal phases,



offering insight into project feasibility and technical requirements.
·Liaise with clients and key stakeholders to clarify requirements and design, and to assist with the analysis, planning and scheduling of project stages.
·Implement security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
·Work cooperatively with a range of internal and external professionals including developers, business analysts, DBAs and testers.
·Adhere to and improve coding standards and processes and conform to Disttech's development methodology to ensure consistent and reproducible development.
·Write technical documentation including code documentation and system architecture overviews, collaborating with specialists on broader user manuals and operational procedures.
·Contribute specialist knowledge to the development of software design proposals, including costings for upgrades and enhancements.
To be successfully considered for the role, you: ·Hold a recognised bachelor's degree (or higher qualification) in computer science, software engineering or a closely related discipline.
Relevant experience and/or on-the-job training also required, in addition to the formal qualification.
·Have at least 3 years professional experience as a Software Engineer in a warehouse management system or warehouse control system environment.




·Have demonstrated capability in efficiently designing and building applications for performance and scalability.
·Have a proven ability to produce first-rate documentation for client use.
·Have strong problem-solving skills and a methodical, detail-focused approach.
·Are innovative and consistently look for ways to add value to the business.
·Have a proven ability to work independently or as part of a cohesive, respectful team.
·Communicate to a consistently high standard with team members, stakeholders and clients.
·Stay informed of advances in technologies and tools and proactively share knowledge with colleagues.
