Finance Officer - Accounts Payable
to join Sunkids Childrens Centres on a
casual basis
. This role is based in
Eight Mile Plains, QLD ****
. As a Finance Officer specialising in Accounts Payable, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial obligations and ensuring accurate processing of invoices and payments. This position is essential to maintaining the integrity of our financial operations and supporting the smooth running of our childcare centres across our organisation.
Key responsibilities
Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is complete and authorised before payment
Managing accounts payable transactions, including invoice entry, verification and reconciliation
Preparing payment runs and ensuring timely settlement of supplier invoices in accordance with agreed terms
Maintaining detailed accounts payable records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies or queries with vendors
Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes
Liaising with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and supporting documentation
Assisting with general accounting duties as required to support the wider finance function
What we're looking for
Proven experience working in an Accounts Payable function or similar accounts administration role
Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping
Solid understanding of accounts payable best practices, invoice processing and supplier management
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
A reliable and versatile approach, given the casual nature of this position
Qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or finance (such as Certificate III or higher in Accounting or Business is preferred)
