Job Description About Us Point Care Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider delivering high-quality, person-centred support services across Queensland.
We specialise in Supported Independent Living (SIL), out-of-home care, and complex support needs, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for children and young people in care.
About the Role We are seeking experienced Residential Care Workers / Youth Workers to support young children in a structured residential setting on the Sunshine Coast.
This role requires a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage complex behaviours while maintaining a protected and nurturing environment.
You will be responsible for providing day-to-day care, implementing care plans, and supporting children with their developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people Support daily routines including personal care, meals, education, and activities Implement individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments Manage challenging behaviours using approved strategies and de-escalation techniques Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and progress notes Work collaboratively with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams Ensure compliance with NDIS standards, Child Safety requirements, and organisational policies Requirements Essential Requirements Demonstrated experience working with children or young people in residential care or similar settings Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour management Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent)



- REQUIRED Diploma level qualifications accepted as an alternative Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card) Current First Aid and CPR certification Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance Current Police Check issued within the last 3 months Ability to work shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays Can start immediately Key Attributes Strong communication and interpersonal skills High level of resilience and emotional regulation Ability to work independently and within a team Commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining professional boundaries Benefits Competitive hourly rates aligned with SCHADS Award / NDIS standards Ongoing training and professional development Supportive team environment with structured supervision Opportunities for career progression within a growing organisation Requirements With an active Blue and Yellow Card and can start immediately.
Minimum Cert IV or higher.
A minimum completion of a high school or equivalent Robust understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Experience with CRM software and NDIS portals.
Understanding of health and safety regulations.
Ability to work with a diverse client base, understanding the different support needs of clients based on their abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
Basic care and first aid skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
