Exhibitions & Events Australia – Hawthorn VIC
At EEA, we create some of Australia's most loved consumer events, connecting passionate communities with brands, products, ideas and experiences.
We're focused on building engaged communities that live beyond our events, and we're looking for a creative, social-first Social Media & Content Creator to help tell those stories, capture those moments and bring our brands to life across social media.
This is not a traditional social media coordinator role.
We're looking for someone who lives and breathes content. Someone who sees stories everywhere, instinctively knows what will resonate on social media, and isn't afraid to jump in front of the camera to make it happen.
If you're constantly saving content ideas, spotting trends before everyone else, thinking in videos and hooks, and creating content because you genuinely love it, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
Working closely with our Content & Social Media Strategist, you'll be responsible for creating engaging, platform-native content that drives audience growth, engagement, registrations and ticket sales across EEA's event portfolio.
You'll capture content before, during and after events, creating authentic stories that showcase exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, products, experiences and the people behind our brands.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a natural creator who is energised by storytelling, social media and creating content people genuinely want to watch and engage with.
What You'll Be Doing
Content Creation & Storytelling
Create engaging short-form video, stories, photography and social content across EEA's event and corporate brands.
Develop platform-native content tailored to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and emerging channels.
Capture authentic exhibitor, attendee, sponsor and behind-the-scenes stories that bring our events and communities to life.
Create user-generated content (UGC) and employee-generated content (EGC) style assets that feel relatable, engaging and social-first.
Write hooks, captions and short-form copy that drive engagement and action.
Event Content Production
Attend events and activations to capture content in real time.
Interview exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and attendees.
Produce and publish fast-turnaround content during event campaigns and live events.
Identify opportunities to capture compelling stories and moments as they happen.
Audience Growth & Campaign Support
Create content that supports audience acquisition, registration conversion, exhibitor promotion, sponsorship activation and customer retention.
Develop content assets that can be repurposed across organic social, paid media, digital advertising, websites, email marketing and CRM campaigns.
Build a library of reusable content assets that improve campaign performance and production efficiency.
Work closely with the Campaign & Growth Marketing Manager and Marketing & Partnerships Manager to ensure content supports broader growth objectives.
Community & Brand Building
Help grow and engage EEA's communities year-round.
Stay ahead of social media trends, platform changes and emerging content formats.
Contribute ideas that improve content performance, engagement and reach.
Help position EEA and its event brands as trusted and authoritative voices within their respective industries.
About You
We're looking for a creator first.
Someone who is naturally curious, creative and confident, with a genuine passion for social media, storytelling and content creation.
You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, but you do need to be comfortable stepping in front of the camera, interviewing people and becoming part of the content when appropriate.
You thrive in fast-moving environments, enjoy variety, and get excited by turning ideas into content quickly.
Skills & Experience
2–4 years' experience creating social-first content for brands, events, agencies, creators or consumer-facing businesses.
Demonstrated experience producing engaging short-form video content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and emerging platforms.
Solid filming, editing and content production skills, with the ability to create content independently from concept through to publishing.
Ability to capture high-quality video content in 4K using mobile and/or professional camera equipment.
Strong understanding of storytelling, sound design, editing techniques, audience behaviour and social-first content best practice.
Proficiency using content creation and editing platforms including CapCut, Canva, Adobe Express and Adobe Creative Suite.
Naturally confident and engaging on camera, with the ability to present, interview and create authentic video content.
Strong written communication skills and an eye for compelling hooks, captions and content angles.
Comfortable working in live event environments and capturing content with exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and attendees.
Experience creating UGC-style content and creator-led social campaigns highly regarded.
This role requires flexibility to work on variable event days including weekends, with schedules adapting to event calendar requirements.
Note, applications will not be reviewed until the week commencing 24 August ****. We appreciate your patience during this time and will reach out to shortlisted candidates after this date.
Why Join EEA?
This is an opportunity to help shape the next phase of content and community growth across a portfolio of established event brands.
You'll work with a collaborative team, have the freedom to experiment creatively, and play a key role in building communities that connect hundreds of thousands of Australians with the brands, products and experiences they love.
If you're passionate about content, social media and storytelling and you're excited by the idea of creating content people genuinely want to watch, we would love to hear from you.
