Stonemason
to join our team on a
full-time basis
at our Archerfield, QLD location. As a Stonemason, you will play a crucial role in the creation and installation of high-quality stone benchtops and architectural elements for both residential and commercial projects. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence and craftsmanship in the building trades industry. You will work directly with stone materials, utilising techniques and industry expertise to deliver exceptional finished products that meet our clients' standards.
Key responsibilities
Measuring, marking and cutting stone materials using hand and power tools to specifications
Shaping and finishing stone surfaces through grinding, polishing and honing techniques
Interpreting CAD drawings to understand project requirements and deliver work to specification
Preparing work areas and ensuring all tools and materials are ready for each project phase
Quality-checking completed work to ensure it meets company standards and client expectations
Maintaining a safe and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
What we;re looking for
Proven experience as a Stonemason or similar stone-working role within the stone industry
Proficiency with stone-working hand tools, including grinders and polishers
Knowledge of different stone types, their properties, and appropriate working techniques for granite, marble and engineered stone
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality finishes
Sound understanding of health and safety requirements on construction and installation sites
Physical fitness and capability to lift heavy materials
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt techniques to suit varying project requirements
Reliability, punctuality with a professional approach
Current manual drivers licence is advantageous
Relevant certifications or qualifications in stone masonry are preferred but not essential
