Our fantastic pub is seeking an experienced
Duty Manager / Assistant Manager Pub
to join our team in Coffs Harbour, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to lead and manage day-to-day operations at our busy pub establishment. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational excellence, and driving profitability. You will work collaboratively with the management team to create a welcoming environment for guests whilst maintaining the highest standards of service and hospitality.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and manage all front-of-house and back-of-house staff during shifts, ensuring excellent customer service standards are consistently maintained
Monitor and control inventory, including beverages, food, and supplies, whilst minimising waste and managing costs effectively
Ensure compliance with all licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies at all times
Handle cash reconciliation, till management, and financial reporting with accuracy and accountability
Respond to customer complaints and concerns professionally, resolving issues to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty
Train, mentor and support bar and hospitality staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service
Manage bookings, seating arrangements and special events to maximise revenue and customer experience
Conduct regular stock takes and maintain detailed records of inventory and ordering
Assist the General Manager with administrative duties, planning and strategic initiatives
Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the venue, including bar, dining areas and facilities
What we're looking for
Proven experience of 2-3 years in a pub, bar or hospitality management role, preferably in a duty manager or assistant manager capacity
Strong knowledge of bar operations, including drinks service, cellar management and responsible alcohol service




Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage and develop staff effectively
Demonstrated experience in cash handling, inventory management and financial reporting
Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
Comprehensive understanding of liquor licensing laws, food safety standards and health and safety regulations relevant to hospitality venues
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with team members, customers and suppliers
A positive attitude, reliability and commitment to providing exceptional service
RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain
Food handling certificate or willingness to obtain
Previous experience with hospitality point-of-sale systems is advantageous
