Principal Duties: The mechanical maintenance technician leads the production facility to ensure our systems and equipment are reliably operating.
The technician will work to resolve production breakdowns and support the maintenance system by conducting root cause analysis to ensure they do not reoccur.
They also play a key role in capital projects through equipment installations to improve reliability and output of the plant.
When not required for maintenance breakdown work, maintenance planning or routine calibration and maintenance works, the mechanical technician will be required to assist on the production lines by understanding constraints and working with the team to achieve targets.
Key responsibilities Timely rectification of production breakdowns, organising electrical support if required.
Ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by completing effective and productive mechanical preventative maintenance when production is not running on all production lines.




Ensure that all electrical work meets all company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.
Ensure maintenance and asset systems are up to date and liaising with the Operations Manager and Financial controller.
Develop PMs with material requirements, activities and time to complete Training Plant Technicians to perform basic PMS Supporting the HSEQ on the calibration and maintenance schedules.
Reviewing of and contribution to mechanical preventative maintenance strategy and spare parts list.
Shutdown maintenance and equipment overhauls and co-ordination of relevant contractors.
Coaching operators on equipment function / trouble shooting to improve productivity and minimise downtime.
Ensuring 5S standards are maintained in the workshop and production areas.
Experience and Competencies Safety emphasis with strong focus on process JSEA, SWMS.
Certificate III Engineering - Mechanical Trade or higher.
Demonstratable understanding of or qualification in Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
Cat A qualifications for electrical isolation and resets preferable or willing to complete.
Experienced in conducting Root Cause Analysis.
Experience in completing mechanical maintenance.
Familiarity with CMMS.
