PROJECT OPERATIONS ASSISTANT MODULAR CONSTRUCTION
Australian Temporary Structures – Braemar NSW
Australian Temporary Structures | Braemar, Southern Highlands NSW
Full-time | Office Based
Build projects that are anything but ordinary.
Australian Temporary Structures (ATS) is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team at our Braemar head office in the Southern Highlands.
For more than 20 years, ATS has been delivering cutting-edge temporary, semi-permanent and modular building solutions across Australia and New Zealand.
Our projects aren't all the same, and that's exactly what makes this role interesting.
One week you could be coordinating an industrial warehouse or large-scale temporary building. The next could involve an automotive showroom, aviation facility, sporting structure, government project or a rapidly deployed modular solution.
We're looking for a practical, organised Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and seeing a project move from an idea on paper to a completed structure on site.
THE ROLE
This is a full-time, office-based position at our Braemar head office, working closely with our Operations Manager, project teams, engineers, suppliers, contractors and clients.
You'll take responsibility for projects from initial planning and pre-construction through procurement, installation and final handover.
While you're primarily based in the office, this isn't a desk-only Project Manager role. There will be opportunities to visit sites, meet clients, inspect upcoming projects and see the structures you've helped deliver come to life.
Your day could include:
Planning and coordinating multiple modular construction projects
Developing project scopes, programs, budgets and resource plans
Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings
Coordinating engineers, designers, suppliers, logistics teams and installation crews
Speaking directly with clients about project requirements and progress
Organising procurement, transport, cranes, plant and site resources
Managing project costs,
variations and timelines
Preparing and maintaining project documentation
Coordinating approvals, compliance and site requirements
Managing subcontractors and suppliers
Identifying project risks before they become problems
Supporting tender and bid submissions for major projects
Visiting sites for inspections, project meetings and key installation milestones
Taking projects through to completion, handover and close-out
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're less interested in someone who simply ticks boxes and more interested in finding a capable Project Manager who can take ownership and make things happen.
You will be comfortable having several projects moving at once and know how to keep people, information, deadlines and budgets organised.
You will ideally bring:
3+ years' project management or project coordination experience
Experience within construction, modular buildings, engineering, industrial projects, infrastructure, events or a related environment
Strong planning and organisational skills
Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
Commercial awareness and an understanding of project budgets and costs
Confidence communicating directly with clients
Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and technical documentation
Good understanding of WHS and construction site requirements
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
A White Card is highly regarded and will be required for site attendance.
Experience with Monday.com, MS Project or similar project management systems would also be advantageous.
TENDER & CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE
We'd particularly like to hear from you if you've been involved with:
Construction tenders and bids
Council or government projects
DA or approval processes
Estimating or project costing
Modular or prefabricated construction
Temporary structures or clear-span buildings
Industrial or commercial construction
WHY JOIN ATS?
This is an opportunity to become part of an established Australian company operating in a specialised and growing area of construction.
You won't be managing the same type of build over and over again.
You'll work across a diverse portfolio of projects and industries and have direct exposure to the people making the decisions within the business.
We offer:
Office-based role in Braemar, Southern Highlands
Competitive salary package based on experience
Diverse projects across Australia
Direct involvement from concept through to completed installation
Exposure to innovative European-engineered modular building systems
A close-knit, practical and supportive team
Direct access to senior management and company decision-makers
Opportunity to grow with the business
A role where your ideas and contribution are genuinely visible
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to become part of the ATS team rather than simply manage projects from behind a desk.
ABOUT AUSTRALIAN TEMPORARY STRUCTURES

READY FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT?
If you're an experienced Project Manager or a strong Project Coordinator ready to take the next step, we'd like to hear from you.
