Your Employer
Our client is an established Australian horticulture business and one of the country's leading suppliers of commercial vegetable seedlings. With more than 35 years in the industry, they work closely with vegetable growers to provide reliable seedling supply, technical support and consistently high standards of plant quality and service. Their Southbrook nursery, near Toowoomba, is a purpose-built, fully automated production facility, supporting customers from crop planning through to delivery.
The Role Reporting to the General Manager, you will manage and grow an established customer base while developing new business across Queensland's vegetable-growing regions. You will combine practical horticultural knowledge with strong relationship management, working closely with growers and internal production teams. Your duties will include
Manage and strengthen relationships with existing vegetable growers.
Identify, pursue and close recent sales opportunities across established and new regions.
Work with growers on crop planning, product requirements and logistics.
Maintain accurate customer, sales and opportunity information within CRM and ERP systems.
Work closely with growing, production and dispatch teams to align supply and delivery requirements.
Develop relationships with suppliers and industry contacts and represent the business at industry events.
Contribute to sales planning, account development and improvements to existing sales processes.
About You You will bring proven horticultural sales or account management experience and the technical knowledge to hold credible conversations with commercial vegetable growers. Your ability to add value to the customer and build long-term relationships will set you apart.
Ideally in seedlings, vegetables or fresh produce.
Proven account management and sales growth experience within a rural or agribusiness market.
Demonstrated ability to develop new customers and grow existing accounts.
Technical capability to discuss crop planning, plant performance and trial outcomes with growers.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with growers and internal teams.
Confidence using, or learning, CRM and ERP systems to manage customers and opportunities.
Willingness to travel regularly to farms, growing regions and industry events.
The Benefits: This position places you within easy reach of some of Queensland's major vegetable-producing districts, including the Lockyer Valley and Southern Downs. The role is highly field focused, with approximately *****% of your time spent on farm, giving you genuine contact with growers rather than tying you to a desk. You will join a small, experienced Queensland team with direct access to growing, production and technical expertise. There is scope to pursue new opportunities and contribute your ideas.
$100,000–$120,000 base salary plus superannuation.
Company vehicle.
Full-time Monday–Friday position.
Relocation assistance.
Limited overnight travel, typically around 3‐4 nights per month.
