Role title: Senior Aboriginal Health Worker Role type: Permanent full time Role grade: Senior Aboriginal Health Worker year 1-2 Shift details: Monday to Friday, 08:*******:30 Department and location: Aboriginal Health Unit, St Vincent's Public Hospital, Sydney Salary: $101,416 - $105,197 + super + salary packaging

About the role
Join our friendly, passionate, and deeply supportive Aboriginal Health team dedicated to delivering exceptional, culturally safe care to First Nations patients and their families. Deliver holistic social, emotional, & advocacy support to First Nations patients and their families. Conduct culturally safe assessments & drive meaningful engagement to support healthcare decisions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in family conferences, and coordinate discharge planning.



Help foster strong partnerships with local Aboriginal community health providers and external services. Serve as a cultural resource for hospital staff while supporting health promotion & improvement initiatives.
About you
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Experienced in supporting First Nations patients and their families in a healthcare setting. Strong understanding of the healthcare challenges facing First Nations patients and families. Excellent communication & teamwork skills coupled with the ability to manage competing priorities. Have or be willing to undertake a minimum Certificate III in Aboriginal Primary Health Care. A current unrestricted NSW Driver's License. Experience in analysing patient and service metrics, desirable.
