We are currently seeking an experienced
Component Fitter
to join our
Blackwater Workshop
on a permanent full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled maintenance team working on a large fleet of heavy mining equipment in a well-equipped workshop environment.

About the Role
As a Component Fitter, you will be responsible for the removal, inspection, repair, rebuild and installation of components across a range of heavy mining equipment.
You will work as part of a professional workshop team, ensuring components are rebuilt and returned to service safely, efficiently and in accordance with OEM specifications.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Performing component change-outs, strip-downs, inspections, overhauls and rebuilds
Assessing components to identify wear, damage and repair requirements
Completing planned maintenance, repairs and component rebuilds safely and efficiently
Fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical issues
Testing and recommissioning components to OEM standards




Accurately recording and reporting maintenance activities
Working to site procedures, safety standards and OEM specifications
Maintaining a clean, safe and productive workshop environment
Working collaboratively with the broader maintenance team to meet operational requirements
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will be a trade-qualified
Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or equivalent
with experience working on heavy mining equipment and components.
You will have:
Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or equivalent
Proven experience in heavy mining equipment maintenance and/or component rebuilds
Strong understanding of earthmoving machinery and mechanical components
Hands-on experience stripping, assessing, rebuilding and testing components
Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working to OEM specifications and maintenance standards
Experience with
CAT ET and SIS
diagnostic systems is highly regarded
A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A reliable and proactive approach, with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities
