About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Chefs and Cooks to join our kitchen team on a
casual basis - potential to go full time/part time
at Inverell RSM Club in Inverell, NSW ****.
This role is fundamental to our operation, as our kitchen team is responsible for creating delicious, high-quality meals that delight our customers and uphold our reputation for excellence. As a Chef or Cook, you will contribute directly to the success of our venue by preparing food efficiently and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and presentation.
Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, equipment and storage areas
Following all food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper food handling and storage procedures
Working efficiently during service periods to meet customer demand and maintain quality standards
Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food preparation
Portioning and plating dishes to ensure consistency and visual appeal
Operating kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including ovens, grills, fryers and prep stations
Contributing to inventory management and notifying management of stock levels and supply needs
What we're looking for
Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a hospitality or food service environment
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and culinary practices relevant to the role
Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations, health codes and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
Physical fitness and stamina to meet the demands of kitchen work, including standing for extended periods and lifting items
Culinary qualification or relevant formal training in hospitality and food preparation
Current Food Safety Supervisor or Food Hygiene certification (preferred)
Flexibility to accommodate casual shift patterns and varying working hours
