The School
Founded in ****, Butler College has always been grounded in our pillars of Knowledge, Integrity and Respect. These values shaped our beginnings and continue to guide how we learn, lead, and relate to one another.
Today, our vision is clear: to be the College where everyone belongs, grows and succeeds. This purpose sits at the heart of our daily work, shaping the culture our students experience and the community we are proud to serve.
Belonging underpins everything we do. Through our collaborative student wellbeing team and our endorsed education support program, we take the time to understand each student and provide the care, guidance and adjustments they need to thrive.
Our approach is grounded in genuine connection and a belief that every young person deserves to be known and valued.

The Role
If you are successful in joining our team, you would teach Science across Years 7 to 12. Whatever the year group, the key is relationships. The teachers who thrive here are the ones students trust, people who hold high standards and show genuine care. This is the quality that matters most.
Our Science team has built robust senior ATAR results, growing uptake into those courses, and real momentum in lower school engagement. Your work is to build on all three, and to help us with the harder question sitting underneath them: how we get more students thinking scientifically, rather than simply following the method in front of them. Our Intentional Teaching Framework provides the structure, but we encourage our staff to go beyond the framework to maximise their impact on student learning.
We use data to improve our courses, our practice and our student outcomes. We want our teachers to look honestly at what the data is telling them, identify the key next steps, take action, and then confirm our students have progressed. Ultimately, we are looking for someone who will improve the learning area and add value to our pursuit of the vision.
Professional Benefits
Working for the Department of Education you will enjoy a range of benefits including competitive salaries, flexible working arrangements, training and career development opportunities and attractive leave provisions. Find out more about the benefits by visiting professional and personal benefits.
