THE OPPORTUNITY
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Sales Estimator to join a highly regarded Australian manufacturer within the architectural building products industry.
This role goes beyond traditional estimating, offering the chance to become a trusted technical advisor throughout the pre-construction process. Working alongside the sales team, you'll prepare accurate quotations, develop innovative solutions and work directly with architects, builders and subcontractors to deliver commercially successful outcomes.
You'll play a key role in securing high-profile commercial projects by ensuring every estimate is technically accurate, commercially competitive and aligned with client expectations.
DUTIES
Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and quotations from architectural documentation.
Interpret plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans and detailed project specifications.
Work closely with the sales team to develop commercially viable technical solutions.
Identify value engineering opportunities that improve project outcomes and profitability.
Liaise directly with architects, builders, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the quotation process.
Attend client meetings and provide technical advice on project scope and product solutions.
Respond to RFIs and assist with detailing throughout the pre-construction phase.




Negotiate supplier pricing and ensure commercially competitive estimates.
Ensure all quotations are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with project requirements.
Support project handovers to operations once projects are secured.
Contribute to ongoing improvements across estimating systems and processes.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Previous estimating experience within architectural building products, commercial construction, ceilings, partitions, joinery or interior fit-out.
Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical documentation.
Proven experience preparing accurate quantity take-offs and quotations.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify value engineering opportunities.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Confidence communicating technical information with architects, builders and subcontractors.
Solid stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
Experience using estimating software and CAD packages will be highly regarded.
