Primary LocationNSW - RockdaleJob Description SummaryConnectSydney are on the hunt for an experienced Supervisor to join our team at our Rockdale office!
About the RoleConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW, is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone.
Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure.The Civil Supervisor will oversee all Civil Maintenance and Minor Project activities through the management of sub-contractor and internal teams, providing leadership by safely managing performance of people, work programs, and/or processes.They will coordinate road asset maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of works in line with TfNSW.
This role offers a diverse mix of day and night shift operations, supporting the delivery of maintenance and project activities across the network.The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting with coordinating work schedules, creating job packs, and supporting the planning and delivery of works.
There is genuine opportunity for the role to expand into broader project coordination and operational leadership for candidates looking to further develop their career.Please note that this role will consist of mostly onsite night work (7pm-3am) and day work within the Rockdale office.
The successful candidate will be provided a company vehicle to travel to various sites across the Sydny Harbour Zone Region.Key Responsibilities:Participate in formal and contractual meetings with the client and other relevant partiesDevelop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholdersCoordinate all activities across the contract, including scheduling and programming of works as requiredAssist in scheduling day and night shift activities to ensure the efficient delivery of maintenance and project worksPreparation and coordination of project job packs,
ensuring all documentation, permits, drawings and supporting information are complete prior to mobilisationOversee crews conducting road maintenance and minor civil construction and ensure all works are executed safely and efficientlyLead daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, and ensure crew compliance with SWMS & ASECSEnsure implementation of approved Traffic Guidance Schemes and ROLsOrganise and manage materials, plant, and labour in office to meet daily productivity and quality targetsLiaise with contractors, suppliers, and traffic control providers to ensure timely delivery and supportPerform checks on workmanship, materials, and clean-up to confirm quality and conformance before handoverRecord daily site activities, including crew hours, quantities, delays, weather conditions, and photos in the asset management system & close out defectsCommunicate with residents, motorists, or local businesses where required to explain work impacts, duration, and access arrangementsEnsure everyone that undertakes work on the contract has the correct training and valid licencesSupport the contract management system to ensure all maintenance or project activities are completedEnsure all KPIs and contract performance requirements are metAssist in the management of maintenance and construction projects in accordance with standards and the Risk Management ProcessSupport continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of planning, scheduling, and project delivery processes across the contract.About You:Preference for a recognised tertiary qualification (Engineering or Construction),
