Making a difference
As an Environmental Health Officer, you will make a real difference by working directly with community members and local businesses to protect and improve public health across the Shire. Through education, advice and practical compliance support, you will help businesses meet their obligations while creating safer, healthier places for people to live, work and visit. This role is an opportunity to build strong local relationships, solve real community issues and contribute to positive health and environmental outcomes every day.
Our ideal candidate is a practical, community-minded Environmental Health qualified who understands that compliance is best achieved through education, support and clear advice. You will be confident working with local businesses, including small business operators, to help them understand their responsibilities, build their skills and knowledge, and work towards meeting public and environmental health requirements. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will care about achieving positive outcomes for the community while taking a fair, supportive and risk-based approach to compliance.
