This is a key position within our organisation, based in Maryville NSW ****.
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our business by providing accurate quotations and project assessments that directly impact our competitiveness and profitability.
You will be responsible for analysing project specifications, calculating material and labour costs, and preparing comprehensive estimates for both commercial & industrial electrical projects.
This role requires a strong understanding of electrical work, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to build positive client relationships through clear communication and professional conduct.Key responsibilitiesConduct site visits and inspections to assess electrical project requirements and scopeAnalyse project drawings, specifications and technical documentation to determine material quantities and labour requirementsPrepare detailed and accurate cost estimates incorporating materials, labour, equipment and overheadsLiaise with clients to understand project needs, answer technical questions and clarify scope of workMaintain current knowledge of material costs, supplier pricing and market conditionsCompile and present skilled quotation documents to clients in a timely mannerCollaborate with project managers and supervisors to ensure estimates align with actual project delivery capabilitiesTrack estimate accuracy and adjust methodologies to improve profitability and competitive positioningManage quote follow-ups and support the sales process through to project commencementMaintain detailed records of all estimates and quotations for reference and analysisWhat we're looking forProven experience as an Estimator within the electrical contracting industry,
ideally with 3+ years in a similar roleStrong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, safety standards and building codesProficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detailAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, plans and technical specificationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with clients and internal teamsCurrent or valid electrical trade qualifications or equivalent industry experienceKnowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulations (AS/NZS)Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates concurrentlyReliability and commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standardsWhat we offerPTD Electrical Services PTY LTD is committed to supporting our team members with competitive remuneration, professional development opportunities and a positive work environment.
