The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operational functions of Gnarly Neighbours and The Neighbourhood, a youth not-for-profit and social enterprise comprising a café, skate store, print studio and indoor skatepark.
This is a key senior management position working directly with the CEO to ensure the organisation has the people, systems, processes and financial foundations needed to grow its impact.
This is a hands-on position requiring comfort moving between big-picture planning and practical day-to-day work required to keep a growing organisation running well.Key responsibilitiesOversee financial management, budgeting, forecasting and reportingManage payroll, accounts payable and receivableLead HR, recruitment, rostering and staff supportEnsure organisational compliance, risk management and workplace health and safetyManage Child Safe Standards and organisational compliance requirementsTrack, report and acquit grant expenditureDevelop and maintain policies, procedures and operational systemsOversee facilities, assets, suppliers and contractorsProvide operational oversight of social enterprise activitiesSupport Department Managers and improve communication across the organisationAbout youAt least five years' experience in a senior management, operations management or similar leadership roleStrong financial management skills including budgeting,
forecasting and financial reportingExperience managing people, HR processes and organisational systemsExcellent organisation and the ability to manage competing prioritiesStrong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused approachExcellent written and verbal communication skillsConfidence working with managers, employees, Board members and external stakeholdersExperience with Xero, Square, Shopify and workflow/project management softwareThe ability to lead by example and support an organisation through growth and changeExperience within a not-for-profit, charity, social enterprise or community organisation would be highly regarded, as would knowledge of ACNC, Fair Work, child safety and workplace complianceAbout usGnarly Neighbours is a youth not-for-profit and social enterprise.
