This team leads the planning and scheduling capability that underpins the successful delivery of growth projects.Reporting to the Head of Delivery Controls, Governance & Assurance, you will play a key role in leading the strategic direction of APA's portfolio planning function, driving portfolio-wide planning standards and governance, and providing leadership across planning and schedule risk analysis to support successful delivery outcomes across APA's Infrastructure Delivery portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the strategic direction and continual improvement of the Infrastructure Delivery planning function, ensuring planning practices support successful portfolio outcomesEstablish, maintain and govern portfolio-wide planning frameworks, processes, and standards across the full project lifecycleDevelop an integrated portfolio view of schedules, providing visibility of project performance, risks, dependencies, and delivery prioritiesDrive the implementation and application of schedule controls, reporting, EVM principles, and planning assurance activities to improve delivery effectivenessLead planning capability development, providing leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to planning resources across the portfolioCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project delivery teams, contractors, consultants, and executive leadership, to support informed decision-making and effective delivery outcomesYour backgroundDemonstrate extensive experience leading portfolio, programme, or major project planning functions within complex infrastructure, construction, engineering, utilities,
or capital delivery environments (prior experience in the energy and power systems sectors would be an advantage).
Develop and implement planning frameworks, governance processes, and scheduling standards that drive consistency, transparency, and portfolio-wide performance outcomesProvide strategic leadership to planning teams, coaching and developing planning professionals while fostering a high-performance culturePartner effectively with senior leaders, project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to align planning approaches and support successful project deliveryApply advanced planning and controls expertise, including schedule risk analysis, critical path assessment, delay analysis, and Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologiesTranslate complex project and portfolio data into meaningful insights, reporting, and recommendations that support executive decision-makingAbout the TeamThe Commercial Delivery team supports the successful delivery of APA's Infrastructure Delivery portfolio by providing functional leadership and specialist capability across estimating, bid management, project controls, governance & assurance, and commercial management throughout the full project delivery lifecycle.Working at APAAt APA, we're committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.We offer targeted career development programs designed to accelerate your career, competitive remuneration, employee benefits, adaptable working arrangements, and wellbeing initiatives are all part of what we'll offer you.
