Alchemy Recruitment Consulting - Brisbane QLDWe're seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the early-stage development of a major resources project in South Australia.This is an initial 3-month contract working closely with the Principal Engineer and broader project team, helping progress engineering packages through the early phases of project definition and development.The RoleThis is an early-stage project engineering position, rather than a construction-focused role.
You'll be involved in developing scope, coordinating engineering activities and ensuring packages are sufficiently defined to progress into later project phases.Responsibilities will include:Support the Principal Engineer across early project development activitiesDevelop and refine scopes of work, technical requirements and engineering deliverablesCoordinate engineering across internal disciplines, consultants and vendorsSupport option studies, design reviews and technical evaluationsManage interfaces and identify scope gaps between engineering packagesCoordinate vendor/package engineering and technical queriesReview drawings, specifications, calculations and vendor documentationSupport cost, schedule,



risk and constructability discussionsTrack engineering actions and deliverables through to closeoutEnsure engineering work aligns with project standards and governance requirementsProject ScopeThe role will have a robust water infrastructure focus, including:Pipelines and piping systemsPumps and pumping infrastructureWater treatment systemsDams and associated infrastructureMechanical, Civil and/or E&I; interfacesAbout YouApproximately 5-10 years' project engineering experienceExperience across study, concept, definition or early engineering phasesAbility to develop and manage engineering scopes and packagesStrong multidisciplinary and vendor coordination skillsMechanical, Civil or E&I; engineering backgroundMining, resources or major-project experience highly regardedStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsLocation & ContractAdelaide based - approximately 95% office-basedOccasional site travel as requiredInitial 3-month contractAdelaide-based candidates preferred, although candidates able to travel into Adelaide and work from the office each week may also be consideredThis is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer who enjoys the front-end of major projects, working closely with senior engineering stakeholders to develop and define packages ahead of execution.
