Head Teacher Technological and Applied Studies - Brisbane Water Secondary College Umina CampusBrisbane Water Secondary College is a dynamic comprehensive 7-12 College established to provide inclusive educational experiences in learning environments that cater to the unique needs of middle years learners and senior learners.
The middle school located in Umina has an enrolment of 800 students who are learners in Years 7-9 of which 15% are Aboriginal.
The Umina Campus also has eight support classes specialising in IM, Autism, multicategorical and ED.
Our inclusive focus provides high quality learning programs with key strategies for building skills, knowledge and understanding in literacy and numeracy, enrichment, creative and performing arts, targeted sports and leadership.

Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice2.
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3.
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4.
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5.
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policySpecific Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.
In addition to the general selection criteria,Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a TAS faculty effectively, including curriculum planning, budgeting and professional development aligned with the NSW Department of Education policies and guidelines.Knowledge and experience in teaching Technological and Applied Studies, with leadership capacity to design, implement,
and evaluate engaging, innovation and inclusive learning programs that meet the needs of diverse learners and comply with the NSW syllabus.Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and the wider school community to promote the TAS faculty's goals and contribute to the overall success of the college.Capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole‐school initiatives that can drive the effective delivery of the School Excellence Plan and student growth.ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
