We are pleased to be partnering with Kaiser Reef to recruit an Underground Manager on a permanent basis for their Henty Gold Project in Tasmania to oversee all underground mining operations.
The opportunity is offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster (ex-Melbourne).
This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and profitable mining outcomes while fostering a high-performance culture on site.Reporting to the General Manager, you will bridge business objectives with operational execution.
You will lead production, planning, and technical teams to optimise mine performance, ensuring targets across safety, cost, and production are consistently achieved.
You will play a critical leadership role, representing the underground operation to both internal and external stakeholders while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.Key Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day underground mining activitiesEnsure resources, workforce capability, and planning align with production targetsMonitor and improve operational performance against cost and productivity metricsLead and mentor a multidisciplinary underground mining teamBuild a strong safety culture and high-performing team environmentDevelop and execute production strategies, budgets, and life-of-mine plansOversee mine design, scheduling, and delivery of safe, effective operationsIdentify and manage risks,



ensuring best-practice mining engineering standardsChampion a proactive safety culture and ensure regulatory complianceLiaise with regulators, contractors, and internal departmentsRepresent the underground operation within the broader businessSupport cross-functional collaboration across geology, maintenance, and processing.Key Requirements:Minimum 8 years' underground mining experienceDegree in Mining Engineering recognised in AustraliaPost-grad degree in business or similar, highly regardedMine Managers certificationAbility to act as Site Senior ExecutiveDemonstrated contractor management experienceStrong technical and operational expertise in underground miningExcellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving skillsCommercial acumen with a focus on cost and productivity optimisationEffective communication and stakeholder management skillsCommitment to continuous improvement and innovationWhat's on Offer:Key leadership role with significant influence on site performance.
