Bull & Associates Accountants Pty Ltd is seeking a Tax Accountant/Practice Manager on a contract basis to join our team in Moe, Victoria.
This is a pivotal role that combines technical taxation expertise with practice management responsibilities, providing strategic leadership to our accounting operations whilst delivering high-quality tax advisory services to our diverse client base.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the efficiency and profitability of our practice whilst maintaining the highest standards of professional service.What you'll be doingPrepare and lodge income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts, ensuring compliance with current tax legislationProvide strategic tax planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax minimisation and optimisationSupport the day-to-day operations of the accounting practice as needed, including staff coordination and client relationship managementReview tax positions, identify risks and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulationsOversee the preparation of financial statements and tax documentation for various entity typesLiaise with clients to gather necessary financial information and discuss tax strategies and outcomesManage practice workflows, including workload allocation, scheduling and quality control proceduresMonitor and maintain professional standards,



ensuring all work meets industry best practicesContribute to business development and client retention strategiesStay current with taxation law changes and communicate these to relevant team members and clientsWhat we're looking forRecognised accounting qualification (CPA, CA or equivalent professional designation)Minimum 5+ years' experience in taxation, including preparation of tax returns across multiple entity typesProven experience in a practice management or supervisory capacity within an accounting firmStrong knowledge of current Australian taxation legislation and tax compliance requirementsExcellent understanding of GST, PAYG, capital gains tax and other key taxation conceptsProficiency with accounting software and tax preparation systems (experience with cloud-based platforms is advantageous)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clientsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines,
