We are seeking a capable and commercially minded Business / Operations Manager with experience within Financial Services and preferably small business accounting experience.
The right person will take ownership of the financial administration and day-to-day operational functions of an established financial planning business.This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who is equally comfortable working with budgets, cash flow, payroll and management reporting as they are improving business processes, coordinating compliance, supporting people operations and managing key service providers.Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide the financial visibility and operational discipline needed to support effective decision-making and ensure the business runs smoothly.
The underlying position has responsibility for financial planning, budgets, financial insights and broader business operations.5+ years' experience in business operations, business management or a similar role within a Financial Planning companyExperience with budgeting, cash flow, payroll, reconciliations and financial reportingWorking knowledge of Xero and confidence using cloud-based business systemsExperience coordinating broader business operations,



suppliers and corporate servicesExcellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing prioritiesStrong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skillsA high degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.Alongside finance, you will oversee and coordinate a range of operational functions, including:Driving improvements to business processes, systems and workflowsManaging relationships with external suppliers and service providersCoordinating IT support, technology procurement, software licenses and user accessOverseeing key business systems, subscriptions and digital platformsCompliance & riskYou will also support the business's compliance and risk-management framework by:Maintaining compliance registers and supporting documentationMonitoring and maintaining breach and conflict-of-interest registersIdentifying operational risks and supporting appropriate mitigationEnsuring relevant policies and procedures remain currentYou will provide practical support across the employee lifecycle, including:Coordinating recruitment administration and interviewsPreparing employment documentationManaging onboarding and induction processesCoordinating payroll-related employee setupMaintaining confidential employee recordsMaintaining HR policies and proceduresA key focus of the role will be taking ownership of the business's day-to-day finance function, including:Managing budgets, cash flow forecasts and expense trackingPerforming bookkeeping, transaction management and codingPreparing financial and management reportsManaging payroll and employee superannuationReconciling bank transactions, supplier invoices and client receiptsPreparing and submitting BAS, IAS and other required ATO lodgementsLiaising with external accountants regarding tax, lodgements and reporting.
