We're looking for a great communicator to work with vulnerable community groups delivering our evidence-based Nutrition Education & Skills Training (NEST) Program.
The purpose of the NEST Program Coordinator is to coordinate the delivery of NEST (Nutrition Education Skills Training) in line with current OzHarvest practices, funding commitments and project aims.You'll be someone who loves working with diverse groups of people, who is a brilliant educator, and someone who loves sharing their passion for simple cooking!
This is a part time position worked across three days - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONSQualifications and Experience:Minimum Bachelor's degree qualification in Nutrition/Dietetics, or higherCurrent First Aid Certificate or equivalent (or willing to obtain)Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)Experience working with vulnerable persons and those from disadvantaged backgroundsExperience in the facilitation of group workshopsExperience in administration and project managementCar License, own vehicle to use for work purposes,
and flexibility to deliver off-site workshops2 years related experience in nutrition/dieteticsPrevious experience working within education /social work fields or volunteering in organisations that provide services to vulnerable groups within the communityA good understanding of potential challenges associated with those at risk of homelessnessFood Safety Supervisor CertificateExperience working within Salesforce or similar CRMCookery qualifications, or a strong interest and experience in home cookingPersonal Abilities and Aptitudes:A strong commitment and enthusiasm towards the vision of OzHarvestEnergetic, positive and proactiveAbility to work autonomously or as part of a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationshipsTeam-orientated and solution focused approachFlexibility in delivery of the programme to adapt to agency needs whilst still maintaining the philosophy of NEST and its goalsAbility to coordinate administration and other projects in a time pressured environmentExcellent attention to detail and a strong customer service approachSkills, Knowledge, and Experience:Comfortable to engage with individuals from low socio-economic areas and may have been exposed to a range of challenging circumstances, environments, and situationsDemonstrated ability to deliver small group training workshopsCompetent cookery skills and confident in a kitchen environmentHigh level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including the ability to build positive networks with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers, beneficiaries and program sponsors as well as participants from low socio-economic groups who have potentially been exposed to a range of challenging circumstances, environments and situationsAbility to manage multiple projects at one time, good time management, and prioritisation skillsExperience or strong understanding of nutrition program evaluation – data collection and analysis.
Demonstrated effective PC skills including MS Office and other related applications packages (including reporting)Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work along with current First Aid Certificate (or equivalent) and successful completion of a manual handling courseDependability and accountabilityAbility to collaborate with other state team members towards a national goalKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDelivery of established nutrition education and practical cookery workshops to vulnerable groups within the community in accordance with current trainer's handbook and internal processesAssist in redevelopment of program education content, trainer's handbook and evaluation tools and methods to ensure national consistency for the NEST programSupervision of university students undertaking placementsWork with Oz Harvest State Manager and National Program Manager to source funding opportunities, ensure funding commitments are achieved and maintain overall program sustainabilityMaintain NEST database, provide Bi-Monthly NEST updates on workshop delivery and participation in fortnightly collaborative NEST team teleconferenceWork with State and National teams to implement, train and support NEST volunteers including volunteer facilitators to effectively deliver NEST workshopsReport on the delivery of NEST programs to fulfil OzHarvest aims and goals and relevant funding requirements as requiredMaintenance and accountability of NEST equipmentCompletion of Police check, Working with Children Clearance, internal Manual Handling Course and an understanding of the OzHarvest Safe Food Handling PolicyOther duties related to NEST and OzHarvest as requiredOzHarvest is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that supports diversity, inclusion and belonging.
