We're looking for compassionate Domestic Assistants who live locally and want to make a real difference close to home.We provide client services across areas including George Town, Launceston and surrounding suburbs so you'll enjoy short travel times and the satisfaction of supporting your own community.You'll only need to drop in occasionally to replenish supplies or attend face-to-face training sessions at the Launceston office, giving you the flexibility to focus on what matters most: your clients.Job DescriptionAbout the positionThe District Nurses (TDN) is a long-standing Tasmanian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping people age and live well in their own homes for as long as possible.We're seeking compassionate Domestic Assistants to join our southern region team on apermanent part-timebasis.As a Domestic Assistant, you will:Perform general household tasks including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and moppingSupport clients with washing, drying, ironing,
and folding clothes and linenAssist with meal preparation and light kitchen dutiesComplete unaccompanied grocery shopping and other appropriate errands as neededEnsure the home environment is safe and report any concernsProvide friendly companionship and conversation to reduce isolation and build positive connectionsDesired Skills and ExperienceAbout youYou don't need previous support work experience; we'll provide full training.
Prior cleaning experience will be highly regarded.We're seeking someone who is:Passionate about client serviceCommitted to empowering clients' choice, dignity, and independenceAble to work autonomously and responsiblyComfortable using basic technology (e.g. smartphone or tablet use)Physically capable of performing the roleAn effective communicator with strong interpersonal skillsEssential Requirements to be provided:A valid unrestricted driver's licence and access to a registered, insured and roadworthy vehicleNational Police CheckWorking with Vulnerable People (Employee) Check with NDIS endorsementCurrent First Aid and CPR CertificateWhy Join TDN?
