About the role.

Royal Rehab is seeking a dedicatedStaff Specialistin Rehabilitation Medicine tojoin our Royal Rehab Ryde Hospital.
In this key clinical role, you will providecomprehensive, evidence-based management for people with severe brain andspinal injuries, as well as those requiring general rehabilitation.Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will lead patientassessment and treatment planning to optimise outcomes and quality of life.
You willalso contribute to research, service development and the supervision and training ofregistrars and junior medical staff.
This is an opportunity to combine clinical excellence, leadership and education withina progressive and purpose-driven rehabilitation service.
Key responsibilities include:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with brain, spinal andneurological injuries, including cognitive, physical and psychosocialevaluations.
Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based treatment plans incollaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Provide specialist rehabilitation interventions, including cognitiverehabilitation, behavioural management and functional skill training.
Monitor patient progress, review outcomes and adjust management plans to optimise recovery.
Participate in case conferences, clinical reviews and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
Contribute to research, data collection, publications and the advancement of best-practice rehabilitation guidelines.
Support education and supervision of registrars, junior medical staff and students, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with professional standards, ethical guidelines and Ministry of Health requirements.
Liaise with patients, families, community providers and external stakeholders to support continuity of care.
Participate in on-call and leave cover arrangements and maintain mandatory professional development and registration requirements.
About you.

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:
Essential Criteria:
* Medical Degree, eligible for medical registration in NSW.
* Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (RACP) or cleareligibility for FAFRM.
* Eligible for Specialist Registration in Rehabilitation Medicine with AHPRA.
* Demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of patientswith brain and spinal injuries, and neurological conditions.
* Strong clinical skills in neurological examination, neurorehabilitation, andcognitive assessment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectivelywith the multidisciplinary team, patients, and families.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast ofemerging trends in spinal and brain injury management.
Desirable Criteria:
* Advanced computer skills.
* Skills relevant to undertaking research in Severe Injury
* Experience in Injection therapy and management of spasticity and associatedconditions.
