MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a rapidly growing organisation to identify an experienced Head of Recoveries to lead and transform a high-performing Recoveries function.This is an excitingopportunity within a commercially driven organisation undergoing continued growth and operational transformation.The successful candidate will have genuine ownership of the Recoveries strategy, operational performance, people leadership and commercial outcomes.Reporting directly to the COO, you will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Recoveries function while working closely with senior leaders across Legal, Operations, Finance, Customer Experience and other key business areas.The OpportunityThis is a hands‐on leadership position for an experienced recoveries qualified who combines strong commercial acumen with operational leadership and stakeholder management capability.You will be responsible for leading the end‐to‐end Recoveries function, driving improved recovery outcomes, strengthening governance and processes, and building a high‐performance culture across a sizeable operational team.You'll have the opportunity to:Develop and execute the organisation's Recoveries strategy in line with broader commercial objectivesLead and optimise a large‐scale Recoveries function, including developing leaders and building team capabilityDrive improvements across recovery rates, conversion, time to recovery and overall commercial performanceProvide strategic advice to the COO and Executive Leadership Team on performance, risks, trends and opportunitiesOversee complex and escalated recovery matters,



settlements and negotiationsEstablish best‐practice frameworks, governance, processes and quality standardsUse data, insights and performance metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvementLead transformation, automation and process improvement initiativesMonitor litigation pipelines, outcomes, costs and key performance indicatorsIdentify opportunities to resolve matters earlier and reduce unnecessary litigation costs and exposureBuild and maintain strong relationships with insurers, legal partners and other external stakeholdersPartner closely with Legal, Operations, Finance, Sales and Customer Experience to improve end‐to‐end outcomesEnsure the Recoveries function operates within all relevant legislative, regulatory and internal requirementsDevelop succession plans and strengthen leadership capability across the functionFoster a culture centred on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and high performanceAbout YouWe're looking for a proven senior leader who can operate comfortably at both strategic and operational levels.You will ideally bring:Significant leadership experience within recoveries, insurance, legal recoveries,



financial services or a comparable commercial environmentDemonstrated experience leading large operational teams and developing people leadersStrong commercial and financial acumen, with a proven ability to manage performance against targets and KPIsExperience within motor claims, insurance or accident‐related services will be highly regardedStrong understanding of recoveries, negotiations, settlements and claims‐related processesExceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skillsA track record of delivering operational transformation and continuous improvementStrong analytical and commercial decision‐making capabilityExperience developing governance, processes, controls and best‐practice frameworksThe ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide commercially sound recommendationsA collaborative, pragmatic and hands‐on leadership styleWhy This Opportunity?
