Build a career that grows with the community
Start your career in a trade that helps keep Council buildings and facilities operating every day.
As an Apprentice Plumber, you work alongside qualified plumbers carrying out maintenance, repairs and installation work across a range of Council buildings and community facilities.
You gain practical experience while building the skills needed to become a qualified tradesperson.
Your day includes using tools and equipment, assisting with plumbing maintenance tasks, following safe work practices and completing allocated work under the guidance of experienced plumbers.
You attend TAFE, learn through hands on experience and build your skills by carrying out tasks until you become competent and confident in the trade.
The work you do helps keep Council buildings and community facilities safe, functional and well maintained.
Your contribution supports infrastructure used every day by staff, residents and visitors, helping Council provide reliable services to the community.
This is a paid 4-year apprenticeship.
During the first 3 years, you complete a Certificate III in Plumbing while receiving on-the-job training.
Your fourth year focuses on practical experience.
Throughout the apprenticeship, experienced supervisors and qualified tradespeople support your development as you build the skills and experience for a career in the plumbing industry.
