Little Learners ELC is a privately owned, family-run early learning service, offering state-of-the-art, purpose-built learning environments where children, families and educators feel genuinely welcomed, valued and supported.Guided by our philosophy of Nurture, Inspire, Achieve, we are passionate about creating environments where children can learn, grow and thrive.We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and caring Kitchen Hand to join our team and support the smooth running of our kitchen and meal service.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a team environment, takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and understands the key role nutritious food plays in children's health and wellbeing.Importantly, we are looking for someone who is willing to learn all aspects of the kitchen and develop the skills and confidence to step into the Cook role when our regular Cook is absent.About the RoleAssisting with the preparation and serving of meals and snacksSupporting our Cook with daily kitchen tasksWashing dishes and maintaining clean and hygienic kitchen areasCleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, benches and food preparation areasAssisting with food storage and stock rotationFollowing food safety, hygiene and infection control proceduresSupporting the kitchen team to maintain a safe and organised environmentAssisting with general kitchen duties as requiredWorking respectfully and collaboratively with educators and other team membersSupporting the provision of nutritious and enjoyable meals for childrenLearning the day-to-day responsibilities of the Cook and being prepared to step into the Cook role when required, including during periods of Cook absenceFollowing Little Learners' policies and procedures relating to food safety, nutrition, hygiene and children's dietary requirementsAbout YouReliable, organised and punctualFriendly, positive and approachableComfortable working as part of a teamAble to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environmentPassionate about maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanlinessResponsible and committed to food safetyRespectful and professional when working around children, families and educatorsWilling and enthusiastic to learn all aspects of the kitchenWilling to step into the Cook role when the regular Cook is absentFlexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities when requiredOpen to learning and developing their skillsCommitted to contributing positively to the Little Learners teamPrevious experience working in a commercial kitchen, childcare, hospitality or similar environment will be highly regarded.Qualifications & RequirementsFood Safety Supervisor Certificate – highly regardedCurrent Working with Children Check (WWCC)Willingness to complete Child Safe Training as part of our employment requirementsUnderstanding of food safety and hygiene practicesA genuine commitment to children's health, safety and wellbeingWillingness to learn and develop the skills required to confidently support the Cook role when requiredChild Safe OrganisationAt Little Learners ELC,
