Monitoring security alerts and events across Microsoft Defender and SentinelPerforming initial triage on low‐severity alerts using documented playbooksEscalating suspicious or complex activity to senior analystsAssisting with basic remediation tasks (isolating devices, resetting credentials, blocking URLs, etc.)Supporting vulnerability management activities (scanning, tracking, follow‐ups)Maintaining accurate documentation of incidents, actions taken, and outcomesAssisting with user security queries (phishing reports, MFA issues, device compliance)How do you get shortlisted for this role?
To be shortlisted for this role you need at least one year of experience with Defender and Sentinel and a basic understanding of:Microsoft 365 security features (Defender, Entra ID, Conditional Access)Endpoint protection concepts (AV, EDR, malware, phishing)SIEM tools (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel) — even at an introductory levelNetworking fundamentals (IP, DNS, firewalls)And you need the ability to follow documented procedures for:Investigating alertsEscalating incidentsRunning predefined remediation steps
