An exciting time to come on board as we are in a phase of significant growth and will offer the right candidate the opportunity to make their mark in our hospital.Our aim is to promote values of quality, accountability, empathy, excellence and trust.Reporting to the Executive, you will drive a positive safety culture by engaging all workers to take a proactive approach to their own safety.Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Supporting the organisations OHS Management System by developing,
implementing and maintaining local procedures including safe operating proceduresDeveloping and implementing strategies to promote awareness of OHS improvement activitiesCoordinating and overseeing the management of workplace injuries and illnesses, including liaising with medical professionals and insurersGuiding and educating managers and other staff with regard to OHS, including workplace inspections etc and Injury management/return to work mattersUndertaking risk assessments, audits etc to identify potential hazards and process and system issues, and implementing preventative measures to reduce risk.Developing and delivering OHS related training programsCoordination of OHS, Radiation Safety and Emergency Management committee'sDemonstrated experience in the health care sector with sound knowledge of relevant ACHS accreditation standards will be highly regarded.As the successful candidate you will have:Tertiary qualifications and evidenced experience in OHS/WHSCert IV Training & AssessmentExperience in the management of WorkCover claimsStrong knowledge of OHS LegislationDemonstrated skills in Incident reporting and investigation principles, including regulatory reportingHigh-level communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written with internal and external stakeholdersThe successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of a current Working with Children Check and Police Check.Applications close Monday, 31 August ****.Please contact Sue Wood (******) for full Position Description or to arrange the confidential discussion.
