JOB TITLE:Cardiac Physiologist (Echocardiography), Cambridge Heart ClinicREPORTS TO:Patient Services ManagerLOCATION:Cambridge Heart Clinic @ Addenbrookes Hospital, 263 Hills Rd, Cambridge CB2 0QQ.JOB OVERVIEW:Regents Park Healthcare are looking for a Cardiac Physiologist to provide a high quality trans-thoracic echocardiography service for elective patients at our Cambridge Heart Clinic.
The role includes supporting Consultant Cardiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart conditions and ensuring the services needs are met.HOURS:Full time and Part time positions available.
Normally Monday to Friday; however, flexibility may be required to support our services.
This would however be discussed and agreed with you in advance.
We expect there will be no requirement to work weekends or Bank Holidays without prior & mutual agreement.
There is no on call requirement in this role.SALARY:£50,000+/year depending on experienceCLINICAL DUTIES:To effectively manage own workloadTo assist with the efficient running of the outpatient service by prioritising daily workloadTo maintain standards of technical competency in the provision of non -invasive cardiologyTo provide and participate in a reporting outpatient echo serviceTo liaise with administrative staff to organise lists and prioritise workloadTo ensure all equipment and work area is maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and functionalityTo ensure that stock levels of consumables are maintainedTo be responsible for identifying equipment faults, and directly resolve fault issuesTo report patient results in a timely mannerTo provide interpretation and full technical reporting on echocardiograms performedTo respond to emergency situations maintaining control effectively, promptly, and professionally and requesting assistance as necessaryTo work according to local policies and protocolsTo always treat patients with kindness and respectMANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:To maintain own clinical competencyTo manage case load and prioritise patient lists to maximise efficiencyTo work as part of the multi-disciplinary teamTo implement and audit cases to ensure qualityTo successfully manage time to affect a balance between clinical and admin dutiesContribute to and accurately participate in the correct reporting and handling of incidentsEDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:To maintain own personal professional developmentTo hold and maintain BSE accreditationTo work in accordance with standards set by BSETo participate in mandatory training as required by the Trust
