We currently have a Full-time position for an experienced Security Officer to join the team at TAFE Queensland Southbank campus.The role of the Security Officer includes (but is not limited to), maintaining a constant visual presence on campus whilst monitoring and responding to alarms, calls for assistance (including administering first aid treatment where appropriate), monitoring of CCTV, responding to Helpdesk calls and appropriate access provisions in accordance with the security Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
You must be flexible to work a variety of shifts, on 4 days on (2 days, 2 nights) 4 days off roster.What You'll Do (key responsibilities)This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:Provide security service across the Campus and assist in developing measures to minimise the exposure to security riskPatrolling the premises and responding to emergency incidentsMonitoring all CCTV, alarms, telephone and radio systems, lift and access door operationsReview and capture CCTV footage for any incident or eventMonitor the access control system during shiftCapture data and run reports from the access control systemWhat You'll Bring (education and experience required)Education:Minimum Certificate II in Security OperationsQLD Security Providers Licence – Unarmed, Monitoring, & Crowd ControlCurrent First Aid and CPRPositive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment (or willingness to obtain).
Experience:Proven experience working within a security teamExperience with CCTV monitoring and alarm response preferredExperience writing security logs and incident reportsExperience with time management and prioritisation of workloadProven experience communicating to employees at all levels,



customers and contractorsPrevious experience within a facilities management environment desirable.Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholdersKnowledge of workplace health and safety practicesFlexible – willingness to perform a variety of shifts and job tasks/duties, and take direction from various supervisory personnel to assist Downer SETP service delivery obligations.Team member – works effectively as a member of a team and assist others with completion of duties to ensure all daily tasks are completed on time.Skills in conflict resolutionFocus on quality –maintains standards set by service specifications and standard operating proceduresMore than anything, you'll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.Please note, as a prerequisite for this role candidates will be required to complete work rights check, pre-employment medical check, Working with Children Check, National Police History certificate and reference checks.Why Downer?
