The Bendigo District RSL is seeking a qualified Full-Time Chef, with above award pay rate based on skill and experience to join our team.TheBendigo District RSL is a busy club with a large kitchen and offers quality dining experiences within its bistro, function rooms and sports bar.
We are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, using fresh, local and seasonal produce.
The successful applicant must be fully qualified, have a passion for food, an eye for detail and have pride in everything they do.You should be willing to work both in a team environment and autonomously.
You must be a team player who is highly professional, motivated, have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.Key responsibilities for this position includePreparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a high standard and maintaining consistent quality, presentation and portion sizes to minimise wastageDeveloping current and innovative recipesEnsuring that food safety and hygiene standards are met at all timesManaging inventory and ordering supplies.




Stock control and stock rotationOperate and monitor ovens, grills, fryers and other commercial cooking equipmentCollaborating with other members of the team to deliver an exceptional dining experience including training and providing guidance to junior kitchen staff and other team members when requiredThe position requiresThe successful candidate will have a proven track record of success within a similar role or work environment.Have a right to work in AustraliaCertificate III in Commercial CookeryPrevious experience (at least 1 year) in a similar role with referencesMust be fully available over a 7-day rosterBe able to work under pressureBe a team playerHighly organised and efficientThe candidate must also have strong communication skills, show attention to detail, and be well presented and punctual.
