RETAINED SEARCH / EXCLUSIVE LISTINGAbout our clientOur client is a Western Australian leisure and entertainment business operating within a seasonal environment and supporting both a permanent and seasonal workforce.
The operation incorporates entertainment, hospitality, retail, food and beverage, engineering and maintenance, inventory management, capital planning, project management and workforce management.The finance team works collaboratively across accounting, payroll, accounts payable, reporting and finance administration, providing an accounting professional with broad financial and commercial exposure.About the opportunityYou'll work across different areas of finance depending on business requirements.In this role, you will:Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processesProcess journals and complete balance sheet reconciliationsSupport monthly management accounts and reportingAssist with statutory reporting requirementsContribute to financial analysis and business performance reportingSupport payroll processing and related reconciliationsAssist with accounts payable and revenue assurance activitiesMaintain finance spreadsheets and reporting toolsWork with stakeholders across different areas of the businessAbout youWe're looking for someone who wants to continue developing their accounting career and gain experience across a range of finance responsibilities.You may currently be an Assistant Accountant or working in another finance position where greater responsibility for month‐end, reporting, reconciliations and analysis would be a natural progression.Excel is also an important part of the position.
You'll need intermediate competency, including formulas and pivot tables, and the ability to create,
maintain and check spreadsheets accurately.To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related disciplineExperience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance roleExperience supporting month‐end accounting processesIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tablesAttention to detail and organisational capabilityThe ability to manage competing priorities and deadlinesProgress towards CPA, CA or an equivalent professional qualification will be regarded favourably.Experience within a consumer-facing or multi-site organisation would also be useful.
