We are looking for an experienced, professional and friendly Casual Medical Receptionist to join our supportive team.
This is a position that involves casual hours and must also be able to cover for staff on annual leave / sick leave at short notice.Responsibilities:In accordance with the practice policies and procedures, the Receptionist will:Greet patients and visitorsLiaise with GPs, other health professionals and staffManaging telephone calls and enquiriesBooking appointments and managing multiple diariesFax, scan, email and file documentsMonitor stationery and place orders as required or directedHandle incoming and outgoing mailHandle cash, EFTPOS and other paymentsManage Medicare and private billingsEnsure the practice is always clean,



tidy and accessibleParticipate in the practice risk management and quality improvement processesMaintain patient and practice confidentialityContribute to the development of a culture consistent with the values of the practice.The Medical Receptionist will have:Previous experience in a medical reception or similar administrative positionprevious experience with our practice software: Best PracticeA friendly, professional, and empathetic demeanorthe ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentialityexcellent communication skills, written and verbalthe ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively within a team environmentCPR training undertaken within the past three years or willingness to participate in trainingwork rights in Australia or be eligible for such.At least 1 year experience working in a Medical CentreThe Medical Receptionist will have:working knowledge of Windows-based software systems (e.g. Word and Excel)an understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedulean understanding of medical terminology, medical and allied health qualified organisations and relevant stakeholdersan understanding or experience in general practice accreditation and standards.This position is a Level 3 position under the Health Professionals and Support Staff Award.
