The role also has a wellbeing component with teachers assigned a form class.We are seeking a French Teacher to deliver engaging and effective French language instruction to students in Years 7 to 12.
The role requires a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic educator who can foster a love of language learning, implement innovative teaching practices, and integrate cultural elements into lessons.
The position holder will also collaborate with colleagues to support a whole‐school approach to language acquisition and development.This is a permanent full‐time position.What You Will DoTeach French to students in years 7 to 12, and according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curriculum, and Dalton principles of responsibility, independence, collaboration and reflectionWrite, implement and evaluate high‐calibre French teaching programs and Dalton assignments ensuring the knowledge, understanding and success of each studentActively participate in the planning of curriculum, writing of programs and resourcesUse formative and summative assessments to determine student progressSubmit marking,
reports and academic results as requiredMonitor and report on the progress of all studentsProvide students with a rich cultural context including French‐speaking countries' traditions and customsAssess students' language progress and provide timely feedback to students and parentsOrganise and participate in French‐related cultural activities, excursions, holiday tours, incursions and language competitions.What You Will BringA degree in Education or related field, with a focus on French or LanguagesEnthusiasm for language and cultural educationAccreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to teach in NSW schoolsStrong understanding of the NSW Languages SyllabusDemonstrated experience teaching French to secondary students and up to HSC levelsStrong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team memberFlexibility and adaptability in teaching methodPunctuality, professionalism and high levels of work reliabilityA firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenA current First Aid / CPR Certificate and valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC).
