ABOUT THE POSITION
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for administering Banhams WA's operating systems, servers, cloud workplace, business software and associated technology infrastructure.
The position will focus on maintaining system integrity, security, availability, backup and performance while supporting the continued growth of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
planning, installing, configuring and maintaining operating systems, servers, cloud platforms and associated hardware and software;
administering Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, user accounts, permissions and access controls;
monitoring system availability, security, storage capacity and performance, and resolving identified issues;
implementing system updates, security patches, endpoint protection and other cybersecurity controls;
managing backup, recovery and disaster recovery arrangements to protect business information and maintain operational continuity;
diagnosing and resolving complex system, server, network and business application issues;
maintaining and improving the systems and software used by the fire protection, plumbing, electrical, finance, payroll and administration teams;
coordinating system upgrades, migrations, integrations and other technology improvement projects;
liaising with external technology providers regarding software licensing, infrastructure, telecommunications and technical support;
maintaining accurate system documentation, asset registers, technical procedures and security records; and
providing technical guidance and systems support to employees across the business.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have:
a bachelor's degree or higher qualification in information technology,



computer science, information systems or a closely related discipline;
at least two years of relevant professional experience in systems administration or a comparable position;
demonstrated experience administering Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID and cloud-based systems;
experience with system monitoring, backup and recovery, network administration, cybersecurity and access management;
strong analytical, diagnostic and technical troubleshooting skills;
the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to operational issues; and
strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical employees.
Experience supporting a multi-site trade services, construction or maintenance business will be highly regarded.
