It's an exciting time to join Central Coast Council.
Following the successful implementation of a major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, Council is entering the next phase of its transformation journey, unlocking new opportunities in financial planning, analysis, reporting and business intelligence.
As a Finance Business Partner, you'll help leaders maximise the value of our modern financial systems and data capabilities, strengthening financial decision-making and organisational performance.
Working closely with stakeholders across Council, you'll support our transition to a more contemporary, connected and agile organisation by delivering meaningful insights, improving financial capability and driving better business outcomes.
More than a finance role, this is a rare opportunity to influence how financial information supports decision-making across one of NSW's largest councils and help shape the future of business partnering within the organisation
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
What you will be doing
Partner with leaders and teams to provide practical financial advice, commercial analysis and insight-led recommendations.Support planning, budgeting and forecasting processes by helping business units translate service plans and operational needs into credible financial outcomes.Prepare accurate and timely reporting inputs, identify trends, risks and emerging issues, and support informed corrective action.Contribute to robust business cases by developing financial analysis that clearly outlines assumptions, risks, contingencies and expected impacts.Promote strong data governance, reporting consistency and continuous improvement across financial systems,
processes and templates.Support financial literacy and capability uplift across the organisation by helping stakeholders better understand financial drivers and performance.About you

Strong financial management, analysis and reporting capability.Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders to influence and achieve outcomes.Well-developed financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills.A collaborative style with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical insights.A genuine commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and organisational success.To be successful in this role, you will have:
Degree qualifications in Finance or Accounting, or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing career development.
Offer Details
The commencing salary for this position is up to $*****K.
Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $*****K on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
We have a 2 x permanent and 1x Fixed Term Contract roles availableThis role will be able to access a 9 day fortnightWe are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsiteThis role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
